If you run with The Brooklyn Circus it means you are miles ahead of your surroundings and have been labelled different,fresh,forward,weird, a clothes whore and so on. So when we come accross other folks that are doing what they do for the love of growing this culture, we have to build with them. Along comes Ombe, owned by dudes that I feel comfortable calling family. The store is hidden a flight up at 10 sloan-directly accross from the Sounth Orange station (NJ Transit-Dover line).
It’s worth the trip to NJ,trust me. We went there the other day for the JB CLASSSIC art installation,sorry it took so long to post the pictures. Too many meetings and so much ahead of us here at The Brooklyn Circus, not a minute to sit and post. But ofcourse we will find the time, all because we love you guys! YEP!

The day after the Rare Air event we were scheduled to appear at the Funk Flex Internatinal Sneaker Battle in Edison New Jersey. Keep in mind we were operating on 3 hours of sleep. If that’s what it takes, then it’s what we’ll do. We had Kohey up early to brief him on some minor things for the store, him,Bevin,Woody and Ra held the store down. It all started with the buzz that our BK Block shirt was being released as one of the shirts in our summer 1 run and the shipment of The Greedy Genius kicks. The phone rang non-stop,while the heat started to rise. With the last minute preparations for our event later that night, we were all pumped and ready to go. The first few cats (Que in da house) managed to get their picture taken with their Greedy Genius purchase for the blog,before the Greedy Genius rush hit us. The people agree with me that Greedy Genius is a hit!
After the early rush, we added the final touches to the place,for the event at 7pm. Al,Vanessa and Gabe chilled as they watched Kohey and Bevon pratice their dance steps. Looks like that’s what they were doing. Kohey stick to getting fresh and djaying, no dancing. Dj Ness provided the tunes for the boys to make fools of themselves.
Fast Forward to 7pm. Poor weather slowed the crowd up a bit, but not for long. 32 minutes later the place was packed with fresh dudes,fly chics,sneaker fiends,friends and family. In the house ,my boy Datwon from King Magazine,Omar from City Allstar (N.J.) Andrew from 3sixteeen,Complete Technique,The Laced Magazine crew,GFC,Lyrical Genius Curtains,King of the Bronx Mickey Factz, and Chris Rubino who’s dope ass prints are currently on display at The Brooklyn Circus.
As sweet as things were, the powers above decided to spice things up a bit. Our injured Air Conditioner took a twist for the worst, It was hotter that Kingston Jamaica in this place. Thanks to woody From Lavedette who has keys to the city, he manage to get Circuit City to open at 11:00 pm (inside joke) and secure us a 13,000 btu A/C to save the night and our weekend fun.
