From LA to Airport Blues . . .

Originally posted on February 25, 2008 with 6 Comments

A few hours ago I (The Bearded Man) was sitting at Oakland Airport, mentally preparing myself to travel for the next 11 hours, 4 of which will be spent sitting in Atlanta for 4 hours on a layover. Well, the time has come and I am sitting here at Hartsfield International Airport in ATL. 4 hours!!!!!

Who in the world booked me this trip? Oh yeah, my travel agent, she is officially fired (I’ll feel bad if she reads this and finds out this way). The nice guy in me dealt with it for a year and a half. This is not the first, second or third time she screwed up like this. I’ve had to wait 8 hours at Narita Airport in Japan once.

For the record, I am in the market for a new, qualified travel agent. Candidate must be able to book me last minute trips, worldwide. Have relationship and access to the best hotels and accommodations. I refuse to have to deal with another layover, the old man needs to rest. OK enough of my Bearded Trump rant, but seriously I am done.

I am trying to find the bright side to this, but I cannot. Oh well, let’s move on. On a lighter note, I feel terrible about not posting anything about my trip to Los Angeles. LA fell in between Vegas and SF and went really well. I guess I did not blog the trip, because so much of it was work that I cannot unveil yet.

Great weather, great people and some serious deal juggling. Also had some good time to reflect about all the global interest in The BKc and making the right decisions for you our avid supporters. Cheo (Rich Yung, Starpower management) and I connected with Tracey Mills (Chistian Audigier), who is without a doubt ,the social mayor of Los Angeles. We got a chance to check out several key spots in LA, with his carte blanche access. Thanks T.Mills, The BKc and Bearded will be back shortly and see more of that crazy city of Lost angels.

Back to work; got a chance to catch up with one of my favorite people in the world. Who happens to be a denim genius: No names, he is our little secret weapon. We had a great time chatting about denim and fashion over some excellent Korean BBQ. At any rate we decided to move our denim production from Turkey to LA, adding some selvedge to the program and lots of minor bells and whistles. I would advise you to grab the current stock of denim, they will become classics (never to be seen again) by next season. Stay tuned for more about our westward moves. Yep!
