As we worked on installing the new windows and the door in The New Brooklyn Circus this weekend, Yung Bev and Shay showed up on the site. May we add that they were both in the cleanest shirt, shoes and pants, looking to examine the place they will be calling home very soon. My advice is they stay in the clean comfort of 258 until the store is complete and the ribbon is ready to be cut. Caught Shay trying to climb ladders and Bev reviewing plans, all foreign language to both of them. I do give them a ton of credit for even trying, see you in July for the opening party boys. Yep! GabetheGreat here… Its been a couple weeks since you last heard from me, well their is plenty reason for that. As Ouigi-The Bearded Man has always told me… “you will have to wear different hats in this game, and juggling is a necessary talent.” Boy was that understated! These are the projects that make you wonder, why did I take this on right now? I could have waited later. But when it’s done, you are ready for another challenge. Waking up at 6am for the last few months to design, meet with the project manager, contractor, architect, get construction permits, meet with the demolition team and a ton more is actually paying off. Visually paying off that is, the place is shaping out. We are pretty excited about a recent approval. Approval to remove a sewage line that sat in the middle of the space, it’s costing us more but worth every penny. The thought of having two ish lines down the middle of the new store did not sit (no pun intended) well with us. Every contractor we meet with before deciding to go with the current team said they would not be able to move the pipes. Glad we went with the current team, nothing but a blessing in this crazy build out process.  So keep us in your prayers as we push to meet our deadline and bring you more updates on the opening date, new product and an opening in store event of course. The Traveling Circus: This is the part of the job we either under estimated or over rated. Don’t get me wrong, It’s been a blessing to travel the U.S. and the world (lots more trips to come), but the challenge of balancing work here and abroad can wear a Bearded man out. We are up for the challenge with your support of course and are set to hit some of our favorite places starting next week. San Francisco July 4th weekend for The Brooklyn Circus SF blast off event on Fillmore, if you are in the Bay we extend an invitation to you an yours to join us on Fillmore July 4th-7th (lots more details to come). We then fly back to NYc for 2 weeks to crack 150 Nevins open for all of our die hard The Brooklyn Circus supporters in NYc, complete with an opening party, giveaways,new product and more. Then back on the road to Chicago July 31st weekend to celebrate the 1yr anniversary with Solemates + The Brooklyn Circus Chi-town family.

We return to NYc the first week of August to prepare for what Sammy had to clear up for me last night, for our trip to Japan to Yokohama not Okinawa for their anniversary event. From Japan we are headed straight to Vegas for Magic, then to LA to meet with our denim manufacturers. On that note we’d like to thank Mighty Crown for traveling from Japan to perform at our event, we’ll be joining them in Japan in August in Okinawa for their annual concert of 60,000 people.
